FAQ`s

How much do the boats cost to build?

The boats can cost anywhere between £150 and £250 to build yourself, dependant on weather you get your parts new or second-hand, also weather you build your own plywood hull or you buy the fibre glass version.

What range can I expect to get from the boat?

This depends on the weather but in normal conditions 600m is not a problem, the range is reduced if the aerial is folded down to go under over hanging trees.

How stable is the boat and whats it manoeuvrability like?

The boat is very stable for it's size having a very low centre of gravity; due to this it out performs a lot of boats on the market in adverse conditions. The steering has be seen to be believed, the turning cicle is about three foot.

How long does the boat last on one full charge?

The motor fitted in the boat draws approximately 5 amps an hour and is fitted with a 12 amp an hour battery so in a perfect world it should run for about 2 hrs 20 mins but in reality of wind and bait load it's more realistically 2 hrs.

How is the boat charged?

The boat can be charged with a mains lead acid battery charger or by solar panel.

How is the boat driven through the water?

The boat is driven by a direct driven propeller by a 600 speed motor, which is what gives the boat it's high torque.

Where can I get the parts to build this boat?

The parts for the boat are available from any reputable model shop and the switches wiring and other ancillaries are from MAPLINS ELECTRONICS. A local firm produces the GRP hulls and topdeck.
